News for December 2002(updated 12/7/02)
Paul Carrol Binkley's classic Christmas music collection, Do You Hear What I Hear, is being featured on radio stations across the country and beyond! Working with Michael Moryc and Matrix Promotions, we have serviced over 200 stations and are receiving great reviews. This CD originally released in 1997, has been re-packaged and is being promoted nationally for the first time. Check out our station list to find one near you. Happy Holidays! Congratulations to Chris Walters on the recent completion of his upcoming Heartdance debut recording, Cool Blue Swing! The official Street Date is January 15 and we are gearing up for some exciting promotional events. This music is so cool and it sounds great! Not only is Chris a brilliant songwriter and composer but he is a world class jazz pianist. Also he has assembled the perfect ensemble to bring his songs to life. Jeff Taylor's accordion and Jeff Coffin's Saxes make you feel like your in a French cafe in the heart of New Orleans. Look for great things from Chris in the New Year and be sure to sign up for our mailing list for updates. Modern Jazz Tubas ride again! The MJT Project has been invited to perform for the Texas Music Educators in San Antonio on February 14th. Rumor has it that the legendary Jim Self will be joining the band for this one. The guys are also wrapping up their upcoming recording this month. Look for some wonderful guest performances from Vocalist Connye Florance and pianist/arranger Kevin Madill. Studio Ed is as busy as ever!! Not to mention as eclectic as ever. Jeff Cook of the group Alabama has just released his debut instrumental recording Just Pickin' which was recorded in October with Eddie Bedford at the controls and Ed Turner at the pro-tools rig. Recently completed was the first run of SPIRIT: The Authentic Story of the Bell Witch of Tennessee by Mockingbird Theatre which transformed Studio Ed into a haunted foley room. The entire performance by the witch was incorporated into the sound design. What a ghostly challenge. We are still sleeping with the lights on! Joe Murphy just shipped off his massive enhancement track project for the Black Bear Country Jubilee's Christmas show in Pigeon Forge, TN. We're talking full orchestral arrangements with real strings, horns, woodwinds, percussion, and rhythm section. The studio held up better than Joe and Ed who didn't sleep at all for a couple of weeks! Congratulations to Joe on his success...but no rest...he has been contracted to produce their new big show that opens in January! Look for Paul Carrol Binkley and Chris Walters as they accompany country super group Alabama on Dick Clark's Rockin' New Years Eve show Dec. 31. The boys will be in Vegas at the Alladin for the kick-off of Alabama's American Farewell Tour 2003. Last year the Network had some 150 million viewers during the same time slot. Let's go for 160!!! Happy New Year! Also Jerry Krahn has been in working on a new one. He has brought in some great guests as well to create some cool duos; Mel Deal, Billy Huber and Danny Coots to name a few. Look for some more classic archtop guitar early next year. Congrats to Eddie Bedford for getting everybody recorded and sounding GREAT!!
